Dr. Brenna McLain
Dr. Brenna McLain grew up in Prescott, Arizona and developed a passion for dentistry at a very young age while spending her summers helping at her parents’ dental practice. After graduating from the University of Arizona Summa Cum Laude in 2008, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Chemistry and accepted the prestigious Health Professions Scholarship through the Air Force to attend dental school. She graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2013 and continued her dental education with a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Scott Air Force Base just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
Following residency, she was assigned to work at the Pentagon dental clinic in Washington D.C. She spent four and a half years caring for the Nation’s highest-ranking military personnel. During her military career she spent time at the White House, and teaching about sleep apnea to dental providers at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. She was also selected to participate in a two-week humanitarian dental relief mission in the Dominican Republic.
Dr. McLain is zealous about lifelong learning and continuing to grow and challenge herself. Since graduating dental school, she has completed over 800 hours of continuing education, earning Fellowship credentialing in the Academy of General Dentistry. After leaving the military she spent 3 years in private practice doing a full scope of general dental procedures. There she ultimately decided that her true passion lies in the field of dental sleep medicine. She was drawn to the life changing effects that better quality sleep can provide.
Dr. McLain has spent the past decade learning from the country’s greatest educators about obstructive sleep apnea management. After several hundred hours of continuing education, and successful management of countless sleep apnea patients, she earned Diplomate credentialing in both the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines. She has helped hundreds of patients to live longer, healthier lives by successfully treating their sleep apnea with a custom fabricated oral appliance. She is also trained in facial pain and headache management through the use of Botox therapy.
When she is not practicing Dentistry, she enjoys cooking, hiking, fitness and travel. She has visited 42 countries and all 50 states. Her husband, Eric, is a clinical ICU pharmacist. Together they have two young boy’s named Everett and Griffin, born in 2018 and 2020.
