Jason Ehtessabian DDS, FAGD, C.DSM
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, and getting to know me a little before starting your treatment at Refresh. I am triple board certified in the dental treatment of sleep apnea, and I’m proud of the AADSM Facility Accreditation that we’ve achieved at Refresh. I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2005, and can’t believe not only how quickly the time has gone by, but also how the technology in dentistry has advanced. I’m very proud of the strides that we have taken as a profession, and all of the new ways that we can positively impact the lives of our patients.
After graduation from dental school, I bounced around for my first couple of years as a dentist, looking for the best ways for me to help patients and influence my profession. I spent my first couple of years as a dentist in Dubuque, IA (my hometown); Joplin, MO; Arvada, CO; and even spent six months volunteering in Tanzania, Africa – where I was very proud to receive the Excellence in the Dental Field Award from Healthcare Volunteers. In 2008, I took over a small family dental practice in Burlington, CO – where I was the only dentist in the cozy town for eight years. I met the love of my life, Morgan, in Burlington and she made me the luckiest man in the world when she married me in 2013. We couldn’t resist the incredible lure from Castle Rock, as not only one of the most gorgeous places we’ve ever been, but also for the emphasis on young families that the town of Castle Rock bountifully provides. We are extremely proud of our 3 young children, Brooks, Quinn and Pierce. Every day my wife and I take time to reflect on how lucky we are to be a part of such an incredible community!
I first starting treating patients with dental appliances for snoring and sleep apnea in 2010, and found the effect of treatment to be truly life changing for patients who either could not tolerate CPAP therapy or preferred an alternative treatment option. I felt the need to dedicate myself entirely to learning more about the most cutting edge, and state of the art ways to make my treatment the most effective that it can possibly be. I took hundreds of hours of continuing education in the dental treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, and even recently starting offering a continuing education class of my own to dentists who want to learn more about how they can help patients who have sleep apnea. I’m even working on a patent for a type of dental sleep apnea appliance that, hopefully, will allow me to make a positive contribution to the field.
I am extremely proud to have received the prestigious Fellowship Award from both the Academy of General Dentistry and the American College of Dentists. I also obtained an Academic Certificate from the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorder Disciplines. I am one of the few dentists in the country to be Triple Board Certified in the dental treatment of sleep apnea as Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Sleep and Breathing Academy, and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorder Disciplines. These board certifications not only allow me to provide exceptional care for my patients, but have also allowed me meet other like-minded dentists, and hopefully will help shape the young field of treating sleep apnea with dental appliances – allowing all patients who think they might have sleep apnea, can’t wear a CPAP, or don’t want to wear a CPAP an alternative treatment that is simple, easy, and most importantly – effective.
I am very proud of my involvement in the Colorado Dental Association, where I was voted onto the Executive Committee and to the Board of Trustees by the dentists of Colorado in 2016. I have served as both the Treasurer for the Colorado Dental Association and the President of the Colorado Dental Association Enterprises. I am also proud to have been selected by the dentists of our state to represent Colorado at the American Dental Association.
Thank you for taking some time to learn a little bit about me, and considering me as one of your healthcare providers. I would love the opportunity to get to learn about you. If you (or your partner) snores, think you might have sleep apnea, or don’t want to wear a CPAP – you came to the right place. We would love the opportunity to help! Sleep apnea is serious, see how easy treatment can actually be!
I look forward to meeting you!
